The Folklore Museum of Acharavi in Corfu was inaugurated in October 2008. It is located just opposite the Roman baths of Acharavi in a private building of 1,000 sq.m.
It includes old photos, books and manuscripts that date from 1862, coins from the period of the Ionian State (1799-1864), wooden folk furniture, a loom, traditional olive press, kitchen utensils, agricultural tools, watermill, ecclesiastical items and other exhibits that present the historical course of Corfu from the 18th century till today. The museum also has a conference room where lectures and seminars take place, a traditional coffee shop as well as a permanent exhibition of traditional products and woven handicrafts.
