Located in Acharavi, just across the road from the Folkloric Museum of Corfu and only visible from the road as entrance has not been allowed for some years. These baths are said to be part of a larger villa and Roman settlement here in the North of Corfu.
Uncovered on private land in 1985 when archaeologists check the land prior to the excavation for a house. Parts of the hypocaust which is an open space below a floor that is heated by gases from a fire or furnace below and that allows the passage of hot air to heat the room is visible. Due to the Roman baths at Palaiopolis in Mon Repos, we have to make a guess that these to date back to around 200 AD, although its never confirmed.
