Many people miss this little treat and see it on social media after their visit to Corfu town. Constructed from wrought iron the ornate spiral staircase leads down from the wall towards the rear of the Garden for the People, which once leads down to Faliraki Bathing Beach. There is not much information about it historically, although it used to be open and we guess it was locked for safety reasons. One would imagine it was used by the well to do, aristocratic members of Corfu and of course the Greek royal family when residing at the palace to access the beach below with out any having to leave the safety of the city walls, and thus Faliraki bathing beach takes its name from.
